Successful Celebrations at The Station Singers’ Spring Concert
At their recent Spring Concert in support of the Friends of the Richmond Friary Community Hospital, over £2000 was raised of which the Friends have benefitted to the tune of £1280.
(Carol Gedye - Musical Director)
The Station Singers led by Carol Gedye , supported by Kay Bromhead and accompanied by Brett Overin were celebrating their 10 year anniversary and chose a wide range of music to present. A medley of Beatles’ songs opened the concert and was enthusiastically received by the packed church. The audience joined in with some of the singing and were also invited to sing “Happy Birthday” ably led by Susie Stevens who was the original accompanist for The Station Singers. After the three choirs had sung, the evening ended with an upbeat rendition of “ Rags to Ritz”.

Jacqui Bennett, Chair of the Friends of the Richmond Friary Community Hospital, gave an informative talk about their work and thanked the audience and choirs for their continued support. It was a very happy and uplifting evening and once again the generosity of the community was evident.
